Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
In his first groundbreaking nonfiction book, now with updated content, New York Times best-selling author Joel C. Rosenberg takes readers on an unforgettable journey through prophecy and current events into the future of Iraq after Saddam, Russia after Communism, Israel after Arafat, and Christianity after radical Islam. You won't want to miss Joel's exclusive interviews with Israeli, Palestinian, and Russian leaders, along with previously classified CIA and White House documents. New content includes the most up-to-date information since the hardcover release in 2006, a new poll about American attitudes toward the Middle East and prophecy, and transcripts of interviews conducted during the interview process for the Epicenter DVD-video.

1 out of 5 stars Interesting for research purposes, but overlooks important issues.   December 26, 2008

I always try to get all sides of the story when I research a topic like this, as any good intellectual would, and that is the reason this book was given to me. There are certain baseline assumptions that Rosenberg begins with that I find completely unacceptable. Those being that the Palestinians do NOT have equal rights to the Israelis, that anyone Washington or Israel deems as an enemy does NOT have the right to acquire nuclear weapons...when Israel has a nuclear arsenal that could wipe out the entire region, which IS a real concern for world peace in its own right as the pattern of Israeli pre-emptive warfare is certainly there (especially when combined with their strongest ally, the United States). Also, most of the sources used in the notes come from Israeli government and American sources (outside of those from the Bible...which smack of Rosenberg stretching the interpretation as a means to an end). I also don't appreciate the underlying Muslim bigotry that is blatant in this book and in America right now (they are all the enemy is the message) and the sense that I get from reading this that Rosenberg is either completely insensitive to the plight of the Palestinians or chooses to simply ignore the IMMENSE repression that they've been under...check the scholary sources that are NOT widely advertised in our biased U.S. media and you'll find that the Palestinian death count is easily 100 times higher than the Israeli death count. Also Rosenberg praises leaders like Rabin and Peres who have commited unbelievable war atrocities stemming from their racist comments about the Arabs/Palestinians...calling them " two-legged beats" and along with other leaders telling their military commanders to eliminate ALL Palestinians in the Beruit War, men, women and children as they ALL could be future terrorists or BREED future terrorists. The accounts of torture are eerily similar to those we hear coming out of Guantanamo, and the truth is that "terrorists" are ANYONE who is against the U.S. or Israel, while these two nations are immune from criticism when it comes to their OWN torture and war crimes against the opposition (Palestinians and other Arab nations) which has been MUCH worse. It's interesting that the current Gaza blockade is now being referred to as "genocide" by many human rights activists, including Archbishop Desmond Tutu who compares the Palestinians to the blacks under apartheid in South Africa. If WE were under military occupation here in America, and told when we could eat, how much we could make, when we could leave our houses, seen our family members disappear for the most minor of infractions, had our homes and what few belongings we had destroyed, I think we would occasionally be compelled to fight back as well. How can you promote a book about the Bible which teaches God's love and grace while ignoring these blatant human rights violations that are CENTRAL to the reason why Israel has so many enemies in the first place?

5 out of 5 stars Worth moving to #1 position in your que of books to read!   December 21, 2008
I am not an avid reader, but could not put this books down. If you have ever wondered what the fulfillment of Bible prophecy might look like given the current geopolitical environment then give this a read. It will make your hair stand on end, and if you believe in the accuracy and validity of the Bible it will help prepare you for defense of God's word in these rapidly changing times.

5 out of 5 stars See the Future...   December 16, 2008
Life might not unfold exactly as described, but Joel puts the pieces together in a most remarkable and believable way. He has tied up loose ends for me like no other author before. He offers a choice of possible scenarios. We don't know what will be, but when it comes to pass people will know there is a God in Heaven.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent   December 6, 2008
The book is very well written and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I look forward to more.
